WWE Summer Slam Odds
The WWE hosts its second-biggest show of the year on Sunday, as Summer Slam takes place. Here is a look at the odds for the top matches on the card.
Summer Slam is a WWE special event that takes place Sunday at 7PM ET and will air live on the WWE Network.
The featured match of the night is slated as Brock Lesnar taking on Randy Orton. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Lesnar is the clear favorite to win, as he is getting odds of -350 to win. Orton is listed with a money line of +225 to prevail. Lesnar is fresh of his UFC 200 appearance where he defeated Mark Hunt. However, he failed a pair of drug tests, which was made known after the fact. Still, that doesn’t stop him from competing in the WWE. He is still considered a special attraction for the company, so it is hard to see him losing to Orton, who doesn’t need the win to legitimize his career.
Another featured bout is for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship as Seth Rollins faces Finn Balor. Oddsmakers see Balor as the favorite, as he is getting odds of -160 to win, while Rollins is listed with a money line of +120 to prevail. Rollins has been the top performer in the company for over a year and certainly is capable of holding the belt, but the company seems to want to build Balor as their next big star. He just was called up last month from NXT, where he was that brand’s biggest star. Now he gets a chance to win the major title in his first special event.
The final featured bout is for the WWE World Championship as Dean Ambrose defends the belt against Dolph Ziggler. Oddsmakers have Ambrose as the heavy favorite, as he is listed with odds of -700 to win. Ziggler is listed with a money line of +400 to prevail. Ambrose has been the champ for a few months and isn’t likely to lose the belt to Ziggler, who has been treated as a mid-carder for most of his career. The company appears to be giving Ziggler a fresh shot at a run as a top superstar, but don’t look for him to win the belt just yet.
