According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Serena Williams is the favorite to win this event, as she has 5/7 odds. Other short odds to win are Victoria Azarenka (6/1), Maria Sharapova (10/1) and Petra Kvitova (16/1).

Williams is a four-time winner of this event and the defending champion. She is a 16-time grand slam event winner and has won three of the last five grand slam tournaments.

Azarenka has never won this tournament, but finished runner-up last year. She is a two-time grand slam event winner and has reached the finals in three of the last seven grand slam tournaments.

Sharapova won this tournament in 2006, but hasn’t been back to the finals since. She is a four-time grand slam event champion and has reached the finals in three of the last seven grand slam tournaments.

Kvitova has never won this tournament or won a grand slam event. She has failed to get past the four round of this tournament, but has reached at least the quarterfinals in four of her last seven grand slam tournaments.
