Women's 100m Hurdles Pick

Rio Summer Olympics Pick 8/17/16 – Women’s 100-meter Hurdles

A group of Americans look to potentially sweep the medals in the Women’s 100-meter Hurdles at the Rio Summer Olympics tonight.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Brianna Rollins is the favorite to win, as she has -400 odds. Other short odds to win are Kristi Castlin (+400) and Nia Ali (+600). The finals of the 100 hurdles is scheduled to take place tonight at 9:55PM ET from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Bet on the Rio Olympics

Rollins competes for the United States and is making her Olympic debut in Rio. She won the 2013 World Championship in this event but finished fourth in the 2015 World Championship with a time of 12.67. Her best time is 12.26.

Castlin also competes for the United States. She failed to qualify for the Olympics in 2012, but came in second at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 12.50. That was her personal-best time.

Ali also competes for the United States, but the 60-meter hurdles is more her specialty. She finished 10th in this event at the 2013 World Championships. Her top time in this event is 12.48.

All of these women haven’t been able to compete for a medal on a stage like this, so nerves could play a factory, but Rollins is too much of a favorite to ignore. It will be interesting to see if all three Americans can claim a medal, but definitely look for Rollins to win gold.
