Men’s 100m Backstroke Odds
A pair of Americans are looking to win gold in the Men’s 100-meter Backstroke at the Rio Olympics. Here is a look at the odds to win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mitch Larkin is the favorite to win the gold, as he has odds of +125 to win. Other short odds to prevail at Ryan Murphy (+200) and David Plummer (+300). The Rio Olympics continue today through Aug. 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Larkin competes for Australia. He is competing in his second Olympic Games. He won the 2015 World Championship in the 100 backstroke and also was the 2014 short course world champ in the event.
Murphy is competing for the United States. He was part of the world champion 4×100 medley relay team, where he completed the backstroke portion. He has yet to medal internationally in this event.
Plummer competes for the United States. He also has won a world championship in his career in the 4×100 medley relay, but hasn’t won in the 100 backstroke. He finished second at the 2013 World Championships.
