Dos Santos enters the fight as the favorite with a betting line of -360 with Nelson given a line of +260 according to online sports book Here is a closer look at both fighters heading into this bout, which will take place from Oracle Arena in Oakland, California at 10PM ET on Pay Per-View.
Junior Dos Santos (11-1):

: Dos Santos is a well-rounded fighter that has big power in his hands. He has been on a path of destruction since entering the UFC, winning all five fights he has had and winning by knockout in each one. Dos Santos is also a skilled jiu-jitsu fighter, as he trains with the Nogueira brothers, but he hasn’t had to use his submission skills in the octagon as of yet.
Weaknesses: At this point it is hard to say that Dos Santos has a weakness. He has controlled every moment of every fight he has had in the octagon thus far. He has beaten every kind of fighter he can face, from strikers to grapplers to submission specialists. His only weakness could be that he may think he is invincible and be willing to slug it out with Nelson, which wouldn’t be a great idea.

Roy Nelson (15-4):
Strengths: Nelson is a big guy with a lot of power in his punches as well. He fits right in at the 265 pound weight limit and despite his large stomach, he has great cardio. Nelson also is a black belt in jiu-jitsu, but he prefers a good old slugfest in his fights. His overhand right has easily put down recent opponents allowing him to get his marquee contest.
Weaknesses: Despite his skills and size, Nelson has yet to defeat a big-name opponent and beating Dos Santos would be the biggest win of his career. Nelson seems to lack that little something that pushes fighters over the edge and unless he can find a way to solve Dos Santos, he is likely to come up short in his big to crack the top 10 once again.
Last Five Fights:
First round TKO win over Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31, 2010

First round KO win over Brendan Schaub at Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale on Dec. 5, 2009

Second round KO loss to Andrei Arlovski at EliteXC-Heat on Oct. 4, 2008

Who will win: This fight should have plenty of fireworks but we think that Dos Santos will have the tools to win. If he can’t win on the feet, he will use his strength to get the fight to the ground and win there. Nelson has a puncher’s chance, but if he over-commits to a strike, it leaves the door open for Dos Santos to counter and put him to sleep. We like Dos Santos to win by TKO in round one.
