Bridgestone Invite Picks
The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational kicks off today and our group of writers handicappers hand out their free picks for this weekend’s golf action.
Tiger Woods (9/2)
It is hard to pass up Woods yet again despite all his recent struggles as he has owned this tournament, winning it seven times including four of the last five years. As the final major championship looms around the corner, Woods needs a good showing against a competitive field. The more he plays the close he is getting to being his old self and you have to expect him to contend this week.
Lee Westwood (12/1)
You could argue that Westwood is the best golfer in the world right now based on his success over the last year. In his last nine tournament, Westwood has finished 18th or better in eight of them and finished in the top 10 in six of them. Westwood finished ninth in this tournament last year and is a solid play with 12/1 odds.
Anthony Kim (50/1)
It isn’t often you are going to get Kim at 50/1 odds but he is coming back from an injury that has forced him to miss the last two majors, but prior to that, Kim had four top 10’s on the year all of which came over his last six events. Kim has been on the brink of becoming one of the world’s best for some time now and a win in a WGC event would certainly add to that case. Playing him after coming off the injury is risky, but at 50/1 odds, we think it is worth the risk.
