Appleby wasn’t on the radar heading into the final round, as he was seven shots out of the lead, but his final round 59 set the tone early on Sunday and no other golfer was able to keep pace as he finished at -22 for the tournament.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, Appleby had 60/1 odds to win the event, meaning a $100 bet on Appleby will pay out $6,000.

Overton had a three-foot put for birdie on the 17th hole lip out that would have put him in a tie with Appleby and a lengthy birdie putt on the 18th hole came up just short.

Brendon de Jonge finished third with a -17 while five other golfers tied for fourth at -15 overall.
