The 2009 Buick Open is one of the final warm-up events for PGA players prior to the final major of the year, The PGA Championship.

Bet the 2009 Buick Open

Woods is a 3/2 favorite to win the Buick Open according to the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds for the Buick Open are Jim Furyk (12/1), Justin Leonard (25/1), and Brian Gay (25/1).

Prior to missing the cut at the British Open, Woods had finished outside of the top 10 in just one of his last 21 events. During that stretch, Woods won 12 events. Woods has won the Buick Open, taking the 2006 event championship, and the low scoring conditions that come at Warwick Hills play in his favor. Woods has the potential to drive numerous par four’s at the Buick Open, and he should be eager to bounce back from his rough British Open performance.

Jim Furyk is a 2003 Buick Open champion and finished tied for 36th in last year’s event. Furyk has made the cut in his last seven PGA events and has seven top 10 finishes in 2009.

Justin Leonard won the 1996 Buick Open and has five top 10 finishes this year. Leonard is without a win in 2009, but he has at leas one tour victory in the last two years.

Brian Gay has won two events in 2009, with each victory coming by at least five strokes. Gay finished tied for seventh at the 2008 Buick Open and he has just missed two cuts in non-major events this year.
