According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the United States is favored to win the gold, as they have odds of +135 to prevail. Other short odds to win are Germany (+365), Brazil (+465) and France (+625). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The United States has won the women’s soccer gold medal four of the five times it was contended for, including the last three Olympic games. They also are coming off a World Cup championship last summer.
Germany hasn’t won the gold medal yet in women’s soccer, but collected bronze in 2000, 2004 and 2008. They didn’t make the medal round in 2012, but are coming off a fourth-place finish at last year’s World Cup.
Brazil has yet to win the Olympics in women’s soccer. They took home the silver in 2008 and 2004. In the 2015 World Cup, Brazil only reached the round of 16.
France has only competed in one Olympics, finishing fourth in 2012. They reached the quarterfinals in the 2015 World Cup.
