The Formula 1 series returns to action on Sunday, July 26 for the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary and Jenson Button is the pre-race favorite heading into the event.
Bet the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix
Button opens as a 2/1 favorite for the race according to the online sports book SGBGLOBAL. Other short odds are Sebastien Vettel (9/4), Mark Webber (9/2), and Lewis Hamilton (7/1).
Button has won six of the nine F1 events this year and is the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix winner. Button’s domination has given him a 21-point lead in the F1 standings. Aside from his six wins, Button has not finished worse than sixth in any F1 event in 2009.
Vettel has won two events this year and is second in the F1 standings to Button. Vettel has placed in the top 4 in six of the nine F1 events and has established himself as Button’s closest competitor.
Webber is the only other driver to record a win this season, winning the German Grand Prix on July 12, the last F1 event. Webber has finished in the top 5 in the last five F1 events and has three second-place finishes in 2009.
Hamilton has not been racing well as of late, placing outside of the top 10 in his last four races. Hamilton’s best finish in 2009 is a fourth place finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
