Woods vs. Rose
Tiger Woods and Justin Rose were among the pre-event favorites to win the 2010 British Open, but which of the two will have the better second round.
Woods went 5-under in his first round while Rose sits at 2-under and Woods is favored to have the stronger Friday of the two.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Woods has a money line of -170 while Rose has a line of +115. Here is a look at both golfers heading into this round, which takes place from Old Course at St. Andrews in
Tiger Woods -155
Woods is no stranger to winning at
Justin Rose +115
Rose has had a strong 2010, but a 2-under 70 was not the round he was looking for on Thursday. The conditions were ideal for low scoring and Rose didn’t jump at the opportunity. He will need a strong round on Friday to be a contender, but in a straight-up match with Woods, he will likely need to shoot a 67 or lower.
Who will win: Woods should have the edge on this one as he has played well in the 2010 majors and Rose will have to be better at manufacturing a low score. Depending on the strength of the winds, the scores could be high, which tends to favor Woods, who can play his low cut shot for longer distances than most.
