Spain won its first ever World Cup title with the victory as it scored with four minutes remaining in extra time. Andres Iniesta scored the lone goal, which had it not come, the championship would have been decided by penalty kicks.

Holland had 10/1 odds to win the event, but it will settle for second. The Dutch were also seeking their first ever World Cup title.
