According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Nadal had 9/4 odds to win Wimbledon, meaning $100 bet on Nadal will pay out $225. Serena Williams won the women’s tournament and had 2/1 odds to win, so a $100 bet on her will pay out $200.

Nadal earned his second Wimbledon title with his win, thanks in part to the departure of Roger Federer, who was the tournament favorite heading in. Nadal’s grand slam victory is the eighth of his career. He won the final match by scores of 6-3, 7-5, and 6-4.

Williams won her fifth overall Wimbledon title and third in three years with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Vera Zvonareva in the finals. Williams has now won 13 grand slam events and two in 2010. Williams entered the tournament as the favorite and didn’t disappoint.

The next tennis grand slam event is the U.S. Open, which starts on Aug. 30.
