Croatia keeps cruising

The Croatians recorded a third straight World Cup victory to move on to the knockout stage with momentum as it downed Iceland by a count of 2-1. The match was scoreless until Milan Badelj made it 1-0 in favor of Croatia in the 53rd minute. Iceland tied it up in the 76th minute, yet a goal by Ivan Perisic in the 90th minute gave his squad the dramatic win. Croatia held 59 percent of the possession and fired 13 shots (two on goal). Croatia committed 12 fouls and was handed two yellow cards. Additionally, the Croatians generated five corner kicks.

Denmark plays first 0-0 game of World Cup

Of the 50 World Cup games played through Tuesday, only one has ended in a scoreless draw and that was the match between Denmark and France in Group C play as both teams qualified with the result. Denmark had very few chances as it had only 38 percent of the possession and registered five shots (one on goal). Denmark was called for 10 fouls including one yellow card. Despite the lack of consistent offense, Denmark did manage four corner kicks but couldn't do anything with them.

Croatia has looked sharp and in control of all three of its World Cup matchea, none more impressive than the 3-0 drubbing over Argentina in its first match. I think the Croatians have too much confidence and chemistry right now for Denmark to pose a serious challenge. Look for Croatia to score a first-half goal and stay tight defensively to win what should be a competitive match.
