All three players shot a 14-under 266 for the tournament, but Watson earned the victory on the second playoff hole by making par while Verplank bogied.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, Watson had 100/1 odds to win the event, meaning a $100 bet on Watson will pay out $10,000.

Watson made up a six-stroke deficit in the final round as he shot a 4-under 66 on Sunday to force the tiebreaker. The win is the first PGA win for Watson.

Pavin also shot a 66 on Sunday while Verplank shot a 6-under 64.

Third round leader Justin Rose shot a 5-over 75 on Sunday to take him out of contention. Rose finished tied for ninth.
