Kohler Grand Prix Predictions
The IndyCar Series returns to action this afternoon with the running of the Kohler Grand Prix. Here’s three drivers we think can contend for the victory.
The Kohler Grand Prix is a race held at Road America. It is a 222-mile race that will do 55 laps around the track. The race takes place today at 12:30PM ET and will air on NBCSN. According to oddsmakers, Will Power is favored, as he is getting +400 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Scott Dixon (+425) and Josef Newgarden (+450).
52006 Will Power +400
Power won this race in 2016 and finished fifth last year. The 2018 Indy 500 champion has two wins this year with a pair of runner-up finishes. He is coming off an 18th-place finish at Texas in the last race and he has been good at bouncing back. The other two times he finished outside the top 10, he has followed it up with a win or second-place finish. Look for the same this afternoon.
52004 Scott Dixon +425
Dixon won this race a year ago and could be the man to beat again this afternoon. Dixon has finished sixth or better in all but one race this year. That includes a pair of victories and a runner-up finish. Dixon is the points leader in the series right now and his ability to stay near the front of the pack at each track is impressive. I like Dixon to contend for another victory today.
52017 Ryan Hunter-Reay +1200
Hunter-Reay is having a bit of a breakout season in IndyCar in 2018. He has not cracked the top 5 of the season standings the last five years, but he currently sits fourth after cracking the top 5 in four straight races. Hunter-Reay has one win this year as well and he finished fourth in this race two years ago. I think he can continue to build on his strong 2018 season with a good run at a road course that he has some success at.
