According to oddsmakers, Denmark is a +110 favorite to win on the moneyline. Australia is a +290 underdog, while a draw is set at +220. The over-under is listed at 2.5 goals.

Australia done in by own goal

In its World Cup opener, Australia largely beat itself as it allowed a penalty kick goal and the eventual deciding own goal in a 2-1 loss to France. After a scoreless tie was broken by a France penalty kick goal in the 58th minute, a PK goal was scored by Australia four minutes later as Mile Jedinak found the back of the net. The score remained tied until the 82nd minute when Aziz Behich put it in his own net to gift France a 2-1 victory. Australia was almost even in possession at 49 percent, but only registered one corner kick and forced France to make just one save.

Poulsen lifts Denmark to win

Denmark's initial World Cup game in 2018 ended in success as a 58th-minute goal courtesy of Yussuf Yurary Poulsen sent it to a 1-0 victory over Peru last week. Denmark only held 48 percent of the possession and was outshot with Peru only making two saves compared to six for Denmark, but ultimately it squeaked out the win. Denmark played a physical match as it committed 18 fouls and was handed two yellow cards.

Australia played France tough and was done in by its own mistakes, although the penalty kick awarded France was very controversial as it went to video replay and was a 50/50 call. If the Aussies can play similarly well today and avoid those kind of plays, it has a great shot today against a Denmark side that looked a bit iffy in its opener. I'm going to call a draw here.
