The second round of the 2010 U.S. Open is complete and the field has been narrowed down to just a handful of legitimate contenders.

Graeme McDowell has a two-shot lead on the field at 3-under for the tournament, but Phil Mickelson is the favorite to win as he sits in second place at 1-under.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Mickelson is a 3/2 favorite. Other short odds to win are Ernie Els (5/1), McDowell (6/1), and Dustin Johnson (9/1).

McDowell shot a 3-under 68 on Friday to take the two-shot lead. McDowell had an eventful day, as he had six birdies and three bogies. McDowell bogied the final hole of his round to finish at -3.

Mickelson is one of four golfers at -1 for the tournament. Mickelson entered the day at +4, but a 5-under 66 on Friday put him right in the mix for the tournament. Mickelson birdied four of the first six holes he played on the day and then finished his round with seven-straight pars.

Els is also tied for second at -1. Els shot a 3-under 68 on Friday. Els had a strong final nine, playing 2-under par. Els is in search of his third U.S. Open title.

Johnson is also in the group in second place. He shot a 1-under 70 on Friday after playing even on Thursday. Johnson had a calm day of 15 pars with two birdies and one bogie.

Pre-event favorite Tiger Woods has 20/1 odds right now as he sits in 25th place at +4 for the tournament. Woods shot a +1 72 on Friday.

The 2010 U.S. Open continues play on Saturday, June 19 and will continue through Sunday. The tournament is played at Pebble Beach in Pebble Beach, California and the format is stroke play. The par is 71 and the yardage is 7,040.
