Public Betting Information
According to oddsmakers, England is a -227 favorite to win on the moneyline. Tunisia is a +750 underdog, while a bet on a draw is set at +325. The total is set at 2.5 goals.
Kane moves into high-profile role
England striker Harry Kane is coming off a tremendous Premier League season with Tottenham, where he just signed a six-year extension. He scored 42 goals in 46 starts with the Spurs during the 2017-18 campaign. Now in his prime, Kane will lead the attack up front for England this World Cup and has the potential to be among the tournament’s top scorers if his squad can make a long enough run.
Khazri set to lead Tunisia offense
Wahbi Khazri, who played on loan for Rennes this season coming over from Sunderland, is a midfielder who had nine goals in 17 games with his new cluh. His presence is going to be vital for Tunisia as he will be tasked to create offensive opportunities. This is Tunisia’s fifth World Cup appearance and first since 2006. Tunisia has never advanced past the group stage.
Prediction:
It probably won’t be easy, because nothing England ever does in the World Cup is easy, but I expect the favorites to pull out a win. Kane has plenty of help from the midfield and I expect him to find the scoring column. Take England to win this one.
