U.S. Open Picks
The 2010 U.S. Open golf tournament begins on Thursday and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggested plays for the tournament.
Tiger Woods 9/2
Typically Tiger would be an even money bet, but due to his recent struggles, he is getting better odds, which could result in a nice payday for you on Sunday. Woods won the 2000 U.S. Open from Pebble Beach, where this tournament is taking place. Woods is a three-time U.S. Open champion and despite the struggles as of late, he still took fourth at the Masters and he dials in for the major championships. You still have to strongly consider Woods this weekend.
Phil Mickelson 5/1
Mickelson is quickly catching up to Woods in the world rankings and a win in the U.S. Open would push him up even further. Mickelson has played well in past Opens, but not been able to finish them out. This year, Mickelson has already won one major, and he will be someone you would expect to contend heading into the weekend rounds.
Ernie Els 18/1
Els is a two-time U.S. Open champion and he finished second at the last U.S. Open from Pebble Beach. Els hasn’t played well as of late, but he is due to rebound this week. The U.S. Open set up favors Els and with 18/1 odds, you have to like The Big Easy this weekend.
The 2010 U.S. Open will take place at Pebble Beach in Pebble Beach, California and it starts on Thursday, June 17.
