Late in the opening round, Liddell caught Franklin with a right hand and went in for the kill, but over-committed to a punch and Franklin caught him with a counter right hand that sent Liddell to the canvas. Franklin quickly followed up with a barrage and left Liddell unconscious.
In the co-main event, Mirko Cro Cop submitted Pat Barry in the third round. Cro Cop had a line of +125 to win. He struggled in the opening round of the fight, getting caught with two big right hands that appeared to give him a broken jaw. Following the opening round, Cro Cop fought like a new man, using kicks, punches, and grappling to tire Berry before he managed to secure a rear-naked choke late in the third round for the win.
