Belmont Stakes Morning Odds
The 2017 Belmont Stakes will take place this evening from Belmont Park. With a 6:37PM ET post time, here's a look at the latest odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Irish War Cry remains the favorite at 7/2. He has four wins in six starts, with zero second-place finishes and zero thirds. He finished a disappointing 10th in the Kentucky Derby after being favored for a brief period of time leading up to the race. He's arguably the most talented contender in an wide-open Belmont Stakes field.
Meanwhile, Lookin At Lee has the next-best odds to win the Belmont Stakes tonight at 5/1. In 11 career starts, Lookin At Lee has two wins, two second-place finishes and two thirds. He got a great trip in the Kentucky Derby, finishing second behind the winner Always Dreaming. He didn't get the same trip in the Preakness Stakes, but still rallied to finish fourth.
Other challengers to Irish War Cry tonight are Tapwrit at 6/1 and Gormley at 8/1. Senior Investment and Patch are 12/1, respectively, followed by J Boys Echo, Meantime, and Multiplier at 15/1, respectively. Twisted Tom is 20/1 and Hollywood Investment has the longest odds to win tonight at 30/1.
In seven starts, Tapwrit has three wins, one second and zero thirds. He's coming off a sixth-place finish in the Kentucky Derby, as well as a fifth-place showing in the Grade 2 Blue Grass Stakes. He did win the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby, however, and finished second in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis on February 11.
