By finishing second, Portugal had to win a playoff stage where it defeated Bosnia-Herzogovina 1-0 in a pair of games to qualify.

Betting Analysis:

Portugal joins Brazil, North Korea, and the Ivory Coast in Group G for World Cup play. Brazil will be tough to get past but Portugal should have the edge on the remaining two teams. Since qualifying for the World Cup, Portugal has went 3-0-1 in friendly competition, defeating teams like China and Cameroon. Portugal shouldn’t have much difficulty getting to the Round of 16, with its key game coming right off the bat with Ivory Coast. Once it reaches the tournament, Portugal has the skills to compete with anyone, it will just have to be consistent all month long. If you are looking for a true dark horse in the World Cup, Portugal may be your team.
