France World Cup History:

Number of Previous World Cup Appearances: 12

Last Appearance: 2006

Best Finish: Champions (1998)

All-Time World Cup Record: 25-16-10

Odds:

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com, France has been given 20/1 odds to win the World Cup. Spain is the favorite coming in with odds of 4/1.

2010 World Cup Qualifying:

France had an embarrassing qualifying process as it was part of UEFA Group 7 and it finishing second to Serbia in the six-team group. By finishing second, France was then forced to take part in a playoff against Ireland where it finished the two-game series 1-0-1, which was enough to advance to the World Cup.

Betting Analysis:

France is taking part in Group A along with Mexico, Uruguay, and South Africa. Coming into World Cup play, France has went 1-2-1 in friendly play, losing to China and Spain. It also tied Tunisia. With all of the inconsistent play, France is an unsure bet. While it should have no issue getting to the round of 16 tournament, we don’t like their chances when the field gets whittled down to eight.
