Paraguay World Cup History:

Number of Previous World Cup Appearances: 7

Last Appearance: 2006

Best Finish: Round of 16 (1998/2002/2006)

All-Time World Cup Record: 6-9-7

Odds:

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com, Paraguay has been given 100/1 odds to win the World Cup. Spain is the favorite coming in with odds of 4/1.

2010 World Cup Qualifying:

Paraguay was part of the difficult CONMEBOL qualifying group, where it finished third behind Brazil and Chile. Paraguay went 10-5-3 during the qualifying round, which tied the group for the most wins. The country scored 24 goals and allowed 16 during the 18-game format. Paraguay actually gave Brazil one of its two losses during the qualifying round.

Betting Analysis:

Paraguay will play in Group F against Italy, New Zealand, and Slovakia. With New Zealand and Slovakia considered among the worst in the entire tournament, the door is open for Paraguay to make something happen in the opening round. From there, the team has proven it can beat some of the best, including Brazil. With 100/1 odds to win, Paraguay deserves some consideration for a bet, but we wouldn’t suggest investing too much.
