Switzerland was part of Group 2 of the UEFA Qualifying for the World Cup. Switzerland went 6-1-3 during qualifying to finish with 21 points, which was enough to win the group. The lone loss in qualifying came against Luxembourg. Switzerland scored 18 goals during the 10-game stretch and allowed just eight.
