Unstoppable U Belmont Preview
ELMONT PARK, NY (The Spread) – Following back-to-back wins in his only two career races, Unstoppable U hopes to shock the masses at the 2012 Belmont Stakes this weekend.
Oddsmakers currently list Unstoppable U’s odds to win the 2012 Belmont Stakes at 30/1 while I’ll Have Another is the favorite at 27/20. Dullahan has the next best odds at 15/4, Union Rags is 4/1 and Paynter, who did not compete in the Kentucky Derby or Preakness Stakes, is 8/1.
Unstoppable U has only raced twice in his career, but he picked up wins in both outings. He won a Maiden Special Weight on March 31 of this year and then came back a month later to win an Allowance on April 27. In that victory last April, he beat fellow Belmont Stakes contender Guyana Star Dweej.
Mojallali Stables, Inc is Unstoppable U’s breeder while Kenneth G. McPeek is his trainer. As previously mentioned, he enters Saturday’s race with a 2-2-0-0 record and has had a Best Beyer of 82. While he hasn’t faced any graded stakes to this point, Unstoppable U might be worth a look as a long shot this weekend.
This will be the 144th running of the Belmont Stakes, with the post time scheduled for 6:35PM ET. I’ll Have Another will attempt to become the 12th Triple Crown winner after he was the 33rd horse to win the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
