Charitable Man Update
One of the more intriguing contenders to win the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes is Charitable Man, who has short odds to win at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made Charitable Man a midrange favorite at 3/1 odds. Mine That Bird is the odds on favorite at 4/3, while Dunkirk (5/1) and Summer Bird (10/1) join Charitable Man as other horses with short odds today.
As a 3-year old, Charitable Man has one win in two starts. In his last three races, he won the Peter Pan on May 9, finished seventh at the Toyota Blue Grass on April 11, and won the Futurity on September 13 of 2008.
What makes Charitable Man so intriguing is that he’s undefeated at Belmont and also unbeaten on dirt. He also hasn’t faced very stiff competition yet the past couple outings and he’s incredible fresh. Assuming Mine That Bird is fatigued from previous outings at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, Charitable Man could be a great value pick at 3/1.
