Chocolate Candy Update
After earning the rail position on Wednesday, Chocolate Candy enters Saturday’s Belmont Stakes as an intriguing midrange favorite.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made Chocolate Candy a midrange favorite at 12/1 odds to win. Mine That Bird (4/3), Charitable Man (3/1), Dunkirk (5/1) and Summer Bird (10/1) are the thoroughbreds with the best odds to win today.
As a 3-year old, Chocolate Candy has two wins and one second place showing in four starts. In his last three outings, he finished fifth at the Kentucky Derby on May 2, second at the Santa Anita Derby on February 4 and first at the El Camino Real Derby on February 14.
One reason why Chocolate Candy is an intriguing value bet at the Belmont is his performance at the Kentucky Derby. He finished out of the running, but his fifth place showing was good enough to get bettors interested and at 12/1, he could be a great value pick today.
The 141st running of the Belmont Stakes is today, with the post time being at 6:30PM ET. The race will be live from Belmont Park in Elmont, New York and for complete odds on today’s race, see below. Also, be sure to check out our 2009 Belmont Stakes Viewing Guide for more information.
