According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Spain is the favorite to win this group, as it has odds of -135 to prevail. The other odds are Netherlands (+250), Chile (+350) and Australia (+3300).
Spain is the defending World Cup champion and they have advanced to the second stage of the World Cup the last three events.
The Netherlands is coming off a second-place finish in the 2010 World Cup. They also placed second in 1974 and 1978. They have reached the second stage of the World Cup in their last seven World Cup appearances.
Chile is coming into the World Cup having reached the round of 16 in 2010. Chile’s best showing was third in the 1962 World Cup.
Australia is making just its fourth appearance in the World Cup. They did reach the second round of the World Cup in 2006, but failed to do so in 2010.
