Brave Victory Odds
One of the horses that will have his work cut out for him at the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes will be Brave Victory, who is a 28/1 long shot to win.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made Brave Victory a 28/1 long shot to win at Belmont Park on Saturday. His odds rank him well behind Mine That Bird (5/6), Dunkirk (7/2) and Charitable Man (3/1), who are some of the favorites to win.
Brave Victory is kind of an unknown thoroughbred coming into the Belmont Stakes. In his last three races, he finished third at the Peter Pan S. on May 9, seventh at the Coolmore Lexington S. on April 18, and fourth at the Swale S. on March 28.
Those are lackluster finishes against lackluster competition. Brave Victory didn’t compete at the Kentucky Derby and also didn’t run in the Preakness this year. So how he’ll compete against top competition is unknown, although one thing’s for sure, Brave Victory will be well rested.
Keep in mind that Belmont favorite Mine That Bird was once a 50/1 long shot to win the Kentucky Derby and he did just that. So at 28/1, don’t discount what Brave Victory could do this weekend.
The 141st running of the Belmont Stakes will take place on Saturday, June 6 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. For more information on this year’s race, check out our 2009 Belmont Stakes Viewing Guide.
