Crowne Plaza Picks
The 2010 Crowne Plaza Invitational will begin play on Thursday, and our team of writers and handicappers have three suggested picks for this weekend.
Phil Mickelson 7/1
Mickelson is a two-time winner of this event and he is playing as well as anyone in the world thanks to a win at the Masters. Mickelson followed it up with a second place at Quail Hollow and a 17th-place finish at the Players Championship. With the No. 1 world ranking on the line for Mickelson, look for Lefty to come out swinging this weekend.
Paul Casey 25/1
Casey has struggled as of late, having missed two of his last four cuts, but he is due to get out of the funk and when he is one his game, he always finds himself in contention. Casey finished fifth in this event a year ago, so he has success on this course. Casey has five top 10’s in 2010 already and with 25/1 odds, Casey has the potential for a big payout.
Angel Cabrera 50/1
Cabrera missed his first cut of the year two weeks ago which came just after a third-place finish at Quail Hollow. Cabrera was absent from this tournament a year ago, but he has been consistent throughout the year and should be able to make it to the weekend with a chance to win. With 50/1 odds, Cabrera deserves some consideration this weekend.
The 2010 Crowne Plaza Invitational will be played at Colonial Country Club Course in Fort Worth, Texas starting on Thursday, May 27 and concluding Sunday, May 30.
