Helio Castroneves Indy 500 Odds
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – Helio Castroneves has been right at home at the Indianapolis 500, having won the race three times. Can he pick up his fourth title on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.com, Castroneves has been given 10/1 odds to win this year’s Indy 500.
Castroneves will start from Row 6 in the 16th position. Three times in Indy 500 history has a driver that started in Row 6 went on to win the race and only one driver has won the race when starting in 16th position, and that was Dan Wheldon back in 2005.
This will be Castroneves’ 11th Indy 500 and he has only finished outside the top 10 one time. He actually won his first two appearances and then picked up a victory in 2009. Last year he finished ninth after winning the pole position. Castroneves has his worst starting position this year in his career at the Indy 500.
Castroneves is really struggling this year as he has just one top 10 and no victories and no top 5’s. He is currently 17th in the point standings, 100 points out of first place.
The Indianapolis 500 will take place Sunday, May 29 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at Noon ET. The race will air on ABC.
