Ed Carpenter Indy 500 Odds
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – Ed Carpenter will start the 2014 Indianapolis 500 in first place, but will he find a way to end in first?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Carpenter has been given 7/1 odds to win this race. He will start in the pole position for Sunday’s race.
Carpenter has competed in this race 10 times. He has only finished in the top 5 once, which was fifth in 2008. He has finished outside the top 10 seven times and was 10th last year despite winning the pole as well.
Carpenter was an IndyCar regular, but is not this year. He has never had a strong overall season, with 12th being his top position in the standings. His last win in an IndyCar race came back in 2012.
Carpenter starts in the prime position of No. 1. The pole position has produced more Indy 500 winners than any other starting spot, with 20 winning from the pole. The last winner came in 2009. The front row starting grid has also produced a total 42 winners.
The Indianapolis 500 will take place on Sunday, May 25 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway at Noon ET on ABC.
