Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com currently list Animal Kingdom as a +200 money line favorite. Dialed In, who was favored to win the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, is +500 on the money line, while Mucho Macho Man is +600. (Mucho Macho Man finished third at the Kentucky Derby.)

When the opening odds were released a day after the Kentucky Derby, both Animal Kingdom and Dialed In were favored at +400. But after he won at Churchill Downs, it was clear that Animal Kingdom would be the lone favorite for the 2011 Preakness. Many observers believe that Animal Kingdom has a legit shot at claiming the Triple Crown, a feat that has not be accomplished in horse racing since Affirmed did it in 1978.

Some contenders with mid-range odds include Sway Away at +1000, Astrology at +1200, Dance City at +1200, Flashpoint at +1200, Midnight Interlude at +1200, Shackleford at +1200 and King Congie at +1500. Shackleford finished fourth at the Kentucky Derby after just missing out on the money.

The long shots at Pimlico are Concealed Identity at +3000, Isn’t He Perfect at +3000, Mr. Commons at +2500 and Norman Asbjornson at +3000.

The 2011 Preakness Stakes will start time at 6:15PM ET (post time). The race takes place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland and for more information on tonight’s race, please check out our 2011 Preakness Stakes 136 TV Viewing Guide.
