2011 Preakness Prop Odds & Wagers
(The Spread) – Don’t want to bet on individual horses in tonight’s Preakness? Then check out some of the prop odds that will be available for the big race.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have released a ton of prop odds and unusual wagers for the 2011 Preakness. We highlighted some of those props below.
For the prop “Winning Saddlecloth Number,” a wager on Odd is –140 on the money line, while a wager on Even is even on the ML. The favorite, Animal Kingdom, will come out of the No. 11 post position, so it makes sense that Odd is favored. That said, Dialed In, who was favored to win the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, is coming out of the No. 10 post, so if you like him than a wager on Even for this prop offers some nice value.
Another prop that revolves around the winning saddlecloth, the Winning Horse Saddlecloth 1-7 is +200 on the money line, while the Winning Horse Saddlecloth 8-14 is –300 on the ML. Again, with Animal Kingdom and Dialed In both in the 8-14 post positions, it’s not a surprise to see such a discrepancy in the odds.
For the prop “Winning Horses Name Begins With A-M or N-Z,” the Winning Horse Beings with A-M is –500 on the money line, while the Winning Horse Beings With N-Z is +300 on the ML.
For the prop “Will a Horse Lead wire to Wire,” a wager on Yes is +400 on the money line, while a wager on No is –600 on the ML. In an unusual prop wager, “Will the Winning Horse Have Run in the Arkansas Derby,” a wager on Yes is +600 while a wager on No is –900. Animal Kingdom of course, did not run at the Arkansas Derby.
