New York Yankees (-165) at New York Mets – Friday odds

NY Mets (20-22) has lost seven of nine games even after beating Washington yesterday. They went 1-5 against the Yankees last season, 0-3 at home.

Hisanori Takahashi (3-1, 3.12 ERA) is getting the start for the injured Jon Niese. It’s the 35-year-old’s first MLB start after coming over from Japan and being used as a reliever.

NY Yankees (25-16) just lost a two-game home series with Tampa Bay. The Yanks have lost three straight and four of five.

Javier Vazquez (2-4, 8.01 ERA) has something to prove after being pushed back from his last start with Boston. He hasn’t proved much since being reacquired from Atlanta.

The New York fans love this Subway Series and the atmosphere at CitiField will be extra crazy this weekend.

Boston Red Sox (+115) at Philadelphia Phillies – Friday odds

Boston (22-20) is having an up-and-down year, but must get hot quick with the Yankees and Rays in their division. The Sox are an impressive 34-20 in Interleague Play the last three years.

John Lackey (4-2, 4.86 ERA) is trying to bounce back from two bad starts, 11 earned runs in 13 innings.

Philadelphia (25-15) looks like the class of the NL with its potent offense and Roy Halladay anchoring the rotation. However, they’re just 9-27 the last two years in Interleague Play.

Lefthander Cole Hamels (4-2, 4.29 ERA) is getting warm with the weather (2-0, 2.75 ERA in three May starts).

San Francisco Giants (-120) at Oakland A’s – Friday odds

San Francisco (22-18) has been all pitch and no hit this year, exactly what was expected. The Giants went 5-1 against Oakland last year in Interleague Play.

Barry Zito (6-1, 2.15 ERA) is having a tremendous year, but is coming back to Earth with a 4.50 ERA in his last two starts.

Oakland (20-22) is 15-9 at home after losing a two-game home series against Detroit. They went 5-13 in Interleague Play last year.

Trevor Cahill (1-2, 4.37 ERA) has a 2.55 ERA in three May starts, with his ERA inflated by a bad start in his first outing.
