Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made Scotty a 1/5 favorite over Lauren (who is 3/1) to become the American Idol Season 10 winner. Last week, Scotty was a 4/7 odds favorite, while Lauren was the long shot at 7/2. Haley Reinhart, who was 3/1, was the latest to be eliminated.
Lauren, the 16-year-old from Rossville Georgia, auditioned in Nashville, Tennessee with Faith Hill’s “Like We Never Loved At All” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” She went on to perform “Unchained Melody” twice, once for her first solo routine in the Hollywood round, and again for her final solo. Her other performances include South Brother Six’s “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “Hello, Goodbye” for the Las Vegas’ Beatles round.
Scotty, the 17-year-old from Garner, North Carolina, auditioned in Milwaukee with Josh Turner’s “Your Man” and Travis Tritt’s “Put Some Drive In Your Country.” His other performances include Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” and his final solo performance was of Josh Turner’s “Long Black Train.”
Scotty has appeared in the bottom 2 once (April 28), while Lauren appeared in the bottom 2 on the May 5 airing of Idol. This pairing figures to be the youngest final two in Idol history.
American Idol Season 10 will wrap up on May 25.
