The Open is played on the third weekend of the third Friday in July and is always played after The Masters and the U.S. Open each year. The tournament takes place every year on one of the nine golf courses in Scotland or England and in 2010, the event will have a prize fund of $7 million U.S. Usually, the British Open’s prize money is the least of the four majors.
