According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Hunter-Reay is listed at 25/1 to win Sunday’s Indy 500. Scott Dixon is the favorite with 9/2 odd while Simon Pagenaud and Will Power each have 11/2 odds. This race will take place on Sunday at Noon ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Hunter-Reay is competing in the Indy 500 for the eighth time in his career. He was able to claim the victory in 2014 and he finished third in 2013. Those are his lone top-5 finishes in his Indy 500 career. Last year, Reay started 19th but managed to fight through the field. This year he qualified in 16th position, which is his third-best starting spot in his Indy 500 career. The last driver to win back-to-back Indy 500s was Helio Castroneves, who won in 2001 and 2002.
Hunter-Reay is having a quiet start to his 2015 season. He currently sits 12th in the point standings with 100 points. He has one top 5 to his credit, but is without a win and has finished outside the top 10 three times this year. Last year he had three wins during the season, so coming back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway could spark something for him.
