Preakness Stakes Head-to-Head Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – With the start of the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes a mere hours away now, let’s check out some of the head-to-head odds being offered by oddsmakers.
Daddy Nose Best is currently –145 on the money line to finish ahead of Teeth of the Dog, who is +115. Daddy Nose Best finished 10th at the Kentucky Derby while Teeth of the Dog placed third at the Grade I Wood Memorial Stakes on April 7 but has run in just four career races thus far. Teeth of the Dog has also been pitted against Tiger Walk in a separate wager and is –150 to Tiger Walk’s +120.
Creative Cause is –130 on the money line to finish higher than Went The Day Well, who has EVEN odds in this prop. Creative Cause finished fifth at this year’s Kentucky Derby while Went The Day Well was fourth. Went The Day Well is also a +160 money line underdog to finish higher than Bodemeister, who is a –200 favorite. Speaking of Bodemeister, who is favored to win the Preakness Stakes at 3/2, is –200 to finish higher than Creative Cause, who is +160.
Creative Cause is also +130 to edge out I’ll Have Another, who is –160 to finish higher than Creative Cause. I’ll Have Another, of course, was the 2012 Kentucky Derby winner. I’ll Have Another has also been pitted against Went The Day Well in a separate prop odd, and is –175 to Went The Day Well’s +145.
Two of the long shots to win the 2012 Preakness Stakes are Optimizer and Pretension. Optimizer is –125 to finish ahead of Pretension, who is –105. Cozetti, another long shot, is –140 to finish higher than Optimizer, who is +110. Cozetti is also –145 to finish higher than Pretension, who is +115.
