Daddy Nose Best Preakness Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) - After a disappointing 10th place finish at the Kentucky Derby, Daddy Nose Best is a long shot to win the 2012 Preakness Stakes.
According to odds makers, Daddy Nose Best is 14/1 to win the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, which is this Saturday. Bodemeister is a 7/4 favorite while this year’s Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another has the next best odds at 5/2.
As previously mentioned, Daddy Nose Best finished 10th at Churchill Downs two weeks ago but he did win the Grade III Sunland Derby on March 25 and the Grade III El Camino Real Derby on February 18. He also finished fifth at the Eddie Logan Stakes at Santa Anita on December 31.
Daddy Nose Best enters the Preakness Stakes with an 11-4-2-1 record and he’s grossed $633,623 throughout his career. The 3-year-old colt’s sire is Scat Daddy and his dam is Follow Your Bliss. On Saturday, he’ll come out of the No. 8 post position and will be flanked by Bodemeister and I’ll Have Another - the two favorites.
This will be the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, which was inaugurated in 1873. It’s a 1 3/16 (9.5 furlongs) race and carries a purse of $1 million. The Gates at Pimlico Race Course will open at 8:00AM ET and the Preakness post time is set for 6:05PM ET.
