Bodemeister Preakness Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – After nearly winning the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, 2012 Preakness Stakes contender Bodemeister will try his luck again this Saturday.
Bodemeister is one of the two favorites to win this year’s Preakness Stakes, which will be the 137th running of the second leg of the Triple Crown. He has odds of 3/1, as does I’ll Have Another, who caught Bodemeister down the stretch at Churchill Downs two weeks ago. Creative Cause and Went The Day Well have the next best odds to win the Preakness at 8/1.
Bodemeister is coming off a second place finish at the Grade I Kentucky Derby and in his race before that, he won the Grade I Arkansas Derby on April 14. He placed second at the Grade II San Felipe Stakes on March 10 and won a MSW at Santa Anita on February 11.
Bodemeister enters the 2012 Preakness Stakes with a record of 5-2-3-0 and has grossed $1,104,800 throughout his career. He’s the sire of Empire Maker and the dam of Untouched Talent, and has been confirmed to race in this year’s Preakness.
This will be the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, which was inaugurated in 1873. It’s a 1 3/16 (9.5 furlongs) race and carries a purse of $1 million. The Gates at Pimlico Race Course will open at 8:00AM ET and the Preakness post time is set for 6:05PM ET.
