Tiger Walk Preakness Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – When the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes takes place this Saturday, contender Tiger Walk will be viewed as a long shot at Pimlico Race Course.
According to oddsmakers, Tiger Walk is 20/1 to win the 2012 Preakness Stakes, as are Teeth of the Dog, Cozzetti and Zetterholm. Bodemeister and 2012 Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another are the co-favorites to win the Preakness at 3/1, respectively.
In his latest outing, Tiger Walk finished fourth at the Grade I Wood Memorial at the Aqueduct on April 7. He also took fourth at the Grade III Gotham on March 3, third at the Grade III Withers on February 4, and won an Allowance on December 14.
Tiger Walk’s career race record is 7-2-0-1 and he’s grossed $90,000. The 3-year-old colt is the sire of Tale of the Cat and the dam of Majestic Trail. Tiger Walk’s name shares the pre-game ritual for Auburn University’s football games, where Tiger players walk to the stadium through a row of fans that line up along Donohue Drive.
This will be the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, which was inaugurated in 1873. It’s a 1 3/16 (9.5 furlongs) race and carries a purse of $1 million. The Gates at Pimlico Race Course will open at 8:00AM ET and the Preakness post time is set for 6:05PM ET.
