Scott wins by one

After struggling to start the 2010 PGA Tour, Adam Scott broke through on Sunday, winning the 2010 Valero Texas Open by one shot over Fredrik Jacobson.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, Scott had 20/1 odds to win the event, meaning a $100 bet on Scott will pay out $2,000.

Scott survived the 36-hole final day of play on Sunday, shooting 11-under for the final 36 holes to finished at -14 for the tournament. Scott looked to be running away with the tournament as he was 15-under with six holes remaining in his final round, but he finished with five-straight pars before bogeying the 72nd hole.

Jacobson also had a solid day, shooting 9-under over the final two rounds. Jacobson birdied the final five holes of his third round but had a quiet fourth round, scoring just two birdies with 16 pars.

Pre-event favorite, Ernie Els, finished tied for third with Aaron Baddeley and Jimmy Walker at -12 for the tournament. Els had a solid Sunday, shooting 7-under for the 36-hole stretch.

Tim Petrovic and Garth Mulroy each finished tied for sixth at -11 for the tournament.
