Bet 2010 Preakness Stakes Odds

After winning the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, Super Saver goes for a win on the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown on Saturday at the Pimlico Race Course. He has been made a 2/1 favorite to win the Preakness, although pre-Derby favorite Lookin at Lucky will serve as his biggest competition at 13/4 odds. Derby third place finisher Paddy O’prado is currently 7/1 to win.

Super Saver’s biggest draw outside of winning the Kentucky Derby is jockey Calvin Borel, who won the Preakness last year on filly Rachel Alexandra. Borel stated after the Derby that he and Super Saver were going to win the Triple Crown. We’ll find out soon enough if he has what it takes.

Both Super Saver (No. 8) and Lookin at Lucky (No. 7) drew solid post positions on Wednesday. The No. 8, No. 9, No. 10 (Paddy O’prado), No. 11 (First Dude) and No. 12 (Dublin) post positions have won seven times in the last 12 years. Since 2000, the top 3 post positions in terms of wins are No. 4 (Northern Giant), No. 7 and No. 8. All three posts have two victories apiece.
