Tone It Down Odds

The 2009 Preakness Stakes is set to run on Saturday, May 16 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland and contender Tone It Down enters the race as a 30/1 long shot.

The 3-year old colt Tone It Down finished third at the Federico Tesio S. at Pimlico on May 2, which was his last race before the Preakness. Before that finish, he collected two wins in his previous five races, one at the Allowance/Optionsl Claiming at Laurel Park on April 1 and at the Maiden Special Weight at Laurel Park on January 19.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Tone It Down a 30/1 long shot to win the Preakness, but don’t count the colt out at those odds. Remember, 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird was a 50/1 long shot to win and that’s exactly what he did at Churchill Downs on May 2.

Speaking of Mine That Bird, the Triple Crown candidate is a 5/1 mid-range favorite for the 2009 Preakness, which ranks him behind Kentucky Derby runner up Pioneerof The Nile (4/1), and Stakes favorite Rachel Alexandra (5/4).

The 134th running of the Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday, May 16 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. For complete odds on the race, see below.
