Big Drama Odds
Could Big Drama be a potential sleeper to win the 2009 Preakness Stakes? It’s a possibility given his recent success, although oddsmakers still list him as a 20/1 long shot to win the 134th running of the Preakness Stakes.
Big Drama lost his debut in July of last year, but went on to win the Florida Stallion In Reality S. on October 18 of 2008, as well as the Boyd Gaming’s Delta Jackpot S. on December 5 of 2008.
After finishing last year on a high note, Big Drama was supposed to be a contender for the Triple Crown in 2009, but he suffered a bone bruise after kicking himself in the stall and his season started on a bad note.
However, Big Drama bounced back in a big way on March 28 at Swale S., placing second in a distance of seven furlongs. Even though it was the first time he ran in just under four months, his second place showing makes him an intriguing sleeper candidate entering the 2009 Preakness Stakes.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.COM have made Big Drama a 16/1 long shot behind several horses, including 3/2 favorite Rachel Alexandra, 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird (7/2) and Kentucky Derby runner up Pioneerof the Nile (6/1).
The 134th running of the Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday, May 16 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. For complete odds on the race, see below and for more information, be sure to check out our 2009 Preakness Stakes Viewing Guide.
