Oddsmakers from online sports book currently list Mucho Macho Man at +800 on the money line, which is a contrast to where they listed him on Monday at +1400. It’s interesting that Mucho Macho Man’s odds have improved because when the post positions were drawn on Wednesday, he was still +1400. There’s a possibility that some sharps are starting to pound his odds the closer we get to the 6:24PM ET post time.

Mucho Macho Man has experience against top competition. He placed second in back-to-back outings at the Nashua (Grade 2) and Remsen (Grade 2) in November of last year, then took fourth at the Holy Bull (Grade 3) on January 30. In February, he won the Risen Star over fellow Kentucky Derby contender Santiva and placed third in his last outing at the Louisiana Derby (Grade 2) behind Pants On Fire and Nehro.

Some observers wonder if Mucho Macho Man will tire late today, but he definitely has the strength to hold off some of the top competition. He didn’t draw the best post position (the No. 11 gate has only produced three Kentucky Derby winners all-time), but his experience facing good competition leading up to the Kentucky Derby will help. He may not win, but bettors may want to take a look at him to finish somewhere in the money.
