Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have released numerous prop odds and unusual wagers for today’s Kentucky Derby. One of the more popular wagers is whether or not a horse will win the 2011 Triple Crown.
It’s been over 30 years since Affirmed last won the Triple Crown, so it’s no surprise that a wager on “Yes” is +700 on the money line, while a wager on “No” is an expensive –1100 on the ML. Obviously bettors won’t know whether or not they’ll win this prop bet until the Preakness or the Belmont, but it’s a popular wager nonetheless.
For the prop bet “Winning Saddle Cloth Number for the 2011 Kentucky Derby,” a wager on “Odd” is –120 on the money line, while “Even” is –120. The favorite tonight, Dialed In, will come out of the No. 8 post for those looking to bet with the favorite for this prop.
“Letters A thru M” is –140 on the money line for the prop, “Winning Horses Name Begins with A-M or N-Z for the 2011 Kentucky Derby.” Letters N thru Z is even on the money line, which is noteworthy because Twice The Appeal would fall into that group. Twice The Appeal, of course, is being ridden by jockey Calvin Borel, the man who has won three of the last four Kentucky Derbys.
Will Secretariat’s 1973 Record Time be Beaten in the 2011 Kentucky Derby? A wager on “Yes Under 1:59.40” is +1800 on the money line, while a wager on “No Over 1:59.40” is –2800. Obviously bettors don’t believe that Secretariat’s time will be bested today at Churchill Downs.
“Over 2:02.15” is –350 on the money line for the pro “Kentucky Derby Official Winning Time.” A wager on “Under 2:02.15” is +250 on the money line. For the prop “Will a Horse Win the 137th Kentucky Derby Wire to Wire,” a wager on “yes” is +800 and “No” is –1600.
Will Dialed In win the Kentucky Derby? He’s +250 on the money line, while a wager on “No” is –450 that he won’t win today. For the prop, “Winning Horse Starts From Which Gate (Gate 1 (1-10) or Gate 2 (11-20),” Gate 1 is –110 on the money line, while Gate 2 is –130.
